Reviving a traditional art form, our talented artisans paint elegant motifs on the leaves of the Peepal tree. The leaves are picked, then soaked until the green can be gently removed with a soft brush. The lacy skeleton of the leaf which remains is washed and laid in the sun to bleach. Individual designs are painted on each leaf, then carefully mounted on handmade paper. Leaves from this tree, also called the Bodhi tree, have been highly valued by the Indian people since ancient times.
